English Mothering Sunday

Its been some time since I last wrote. I have been up to my ears doing 35 hours of French a week and coping with other stuff as well. I have started my distance learning course with l'AFPA. I have also been editing and translating bits of work (call for papers ) for  Xavier for ICHIM 05 which will take place this year in Paris 21-23rd September. It's all very exciting and I am looking forward to it. And that work has confirmed a plane ticket for me to Vancouver. Never having been there, I am extremely curious. And of course, this time, I am taking part in a forum with Jonathan Bowen and the others.
As though that is not enough, I am also collaborating with Christina Li and Sean Liu on a paper for STC special issue on web accessibility.I feel like a hermit sitting at the computor for hours on end.

Naomi also rang to wish me a Happy Mothering Sunday.  She has started a blog - which is great! I think it is best I go back to my original intention of writing a blog every Sunday and recapitulate the week's events. So...

This week -the weather has been freezing cold. Its been snowing a lot. I really dont feel like going out much in it.

Amy invited me to go the the French club's dinner last night. John was kind enough to take me there and back. It was good to see people again. Francoise had stepped down and now its Christine and another lady who will take charge. We had a pot luck dinner with lots of  sushi  and other  nice dishes. I had a nice long chat with Melba as well and surprisingly with  Ignacio. I didnt expect to see him there.
