Midweek before Easter. Paula is coming tomorrow from London and I looked up public transport from Entzheim. I do not understand why there is not direct services from the airport to the city. There is a
shuttle service that takes you to Baggersee tram station which then takes you to the city. Paula is arriving at 10.00 pm on Good Friday and the taxi service to Esplande will cost in the region of 38 euros. I have been recently fuming about the links to Frankfurt airport too. If you try to buy a cheap ticket from Strasbourg, they will inevitably send you to Frankfurt airport - the ticket will include a shuttle service to the airport. However the bus is not accessible. So you have to find a way to get to Frankfurt airport.
Lee, my great friend who lives in NY state, the raconteur , has recently introduced me to Pat Figueroa who told me that he is the creator of the most visited disability website,
Independent Living USA, in the USA, if not the world. I was very honoured when he offered to exchange links with me on my blog. I am not sure if anybody other than a few friends and family really read this. However, there are not that many blogs on his site. And I think his site is a good place to see what are the concerns of the disability world in the USA. Any friend of Lee's is enough of an introduction. Lee is someone I sent websites to so as to check up on their accessibility since he read with a text reader. He uses Lynx to access the web. Not sure what else he uses.
On the other hand, I also have a visitor, Gianfranco who lives in San Remo and the UK. He showed me his little village,
Airole. It looks totally inaccessible - very picturesque as ancient Italian villages go but inaccessible. We also talked about the possibility of going on his boat. It sounds challenging and as Gian said, might be inelegant to have to crawl around.
