Blog on being a disabled person, different cultures, diversity, equality, disability, travel, being diaspora Chinese and disabled travel.
I thought if I write a bit each day I wont have a mad rush for sundays.
Today I went to the social worker to ask him about social services. I had a COTOREP form to fill about my disabled worker's status and registration. And I wanted to ask him about having a home help. Here it is called a "tierce person". My cleaning lady takes up a huge chunk of my monthly funds - but the social worker, M. Bitsch looked things up and said its all related to my resources and since I was still married - my separation is not official until the judge says it is - I am still suppposedly have access to T's income and so I am not egligible for anything. It is all means tested in France. In UK, its been some time now so I may be wrong, I do not think it is means tested. I am hazy about the US - although I was working on the rewardingwork website, I am not sure how the funding works and who is egligible for aid from the state. Anyway it is different in each state. He really topped the afternoon by commenting but it is not desperate your case - to which I replied, no, I won't starve and be homelesss on the streets!
