A warm weekend

I have always functioned better when it is warm - not hot and humid but warm in the higher 20's C. Suddenly my energy level seems to go up and I am more positive in my outlook. Colleagues in the office have the fans on and they wilt in the heat. To be sure, the office is a bit airless so that doesn't help the oppressive atmosphere.

Its still quite warm today. England has lost to Portugal yesterday so the football fever should be down - the weather is warmish but hazy. I should be going to work to start on a presentation but I feel lazy.

I am looking out on to the little patio bit that I have outside the window which leads out to the courtyard. There are  some plants now-  two hostas, a pink dianthus (pinks), a lavender,  thyme, begonia, crassula,  a  climbing jasmine, a bouganvilea and a succulent.
The bouganvilea is hot pink and really reminds me of home in Malaysia where there might be pots of  bouganvilea in every garden.

Talking of going home, Naomi and I decided against going back to malaysia for Christmas. Life is too uncertain at the moment and the ticket is too expensive.

However, I am looking forward to visiting friend Peter  near Granada in Spain - in Alhambra. This will be in early September. Peter has just bought a house and he was going to put in a loo downstairs and wide doorways so I can visit but unfortunately he cannot get the plumbing  right.
Here's a photo of  Peter  I took while  we were in Amsterdam together  last year:

and this is a photo he sent me of Alhambra -

Paula will be going with us too - I hope she will let me take some photos to add to the blog.
