Sunday again. This week was a quiet week. I had a haircut which made me howl afterwards- it was awful, the woman cut too much off. I wanted a trim and she did a layered cut for me and way too much.
I went for a long walk with Berta, my Mexican neighbour. We went along the quayside. "There are some really lovely houses here, " she enthused. She pointed out the houses with the lovely magnolia trees. She asked if I wanted to go the same way home or cut accross to the Orangerie. The Orangerie is in the posh part of Strasbourg - near the Robertsau. This is where the people of the European institutions have their homes and property is very expensive. The orangerie is also a very nice park. In it is a lake, a zoo and the Pavilion Josephine where sometimes events like the British consulate's celebration of the Queen's birthday is held.
It must be at least 5 years since I was there last. Its now pretty built up now with some very nice looking apartments across the Parc d'Orangerie. Berta and I sat at an outdoors café to have a coffee but we didnt get served..so we continued on our way.
I also went on a test run on a power assisted wheelchair system called emotion. Its good- its not much bigger than a manual but has power to help with pushing. And it means that I can take it places with me.
