Spanish holiday

I've never been to southern Spain.

For a short weekend break, I visited Peter who had recently bought a house in southern Spain. Paula was supposed to be there too (she missed her flight though, the poor girl) However his house has not completed its renovations and it is, moreover, not accessible so I stayed at Lisa and Nigel's Casapinosolo.


It is very nice and set up in the midst of lots of olive trees. The room itself is spacious and has a lovely shower. I was honoured to be the first person to use it with a mobility challenge and so we had some discussions on how to make it more accessible.

They were both very accomodating and hospitable in providing me with teas and coffees - I was not able to take up the self accomodation kitchen facilities ( a ramp needs to be put in place) - and a great dinner eaten en famille with Lisa's parents and friends. 

I was not too upset at not being able to get into the pool since the water was a bit chilly - it would be good if they do get the pool heated as they say they might in the future. Maybe they should think of getting a hoist so that the pool would be accessible too but thats in the future. I wish them every success.

The place is equidistance from Malaga and Granada airports. They kindly send a driver to pick me up. The fare is about 50-60 euros. Peter did the tour guide for me for the next 3 days.

There were the usual constraints - the Alhambra is reportedly not that accessible, we couldnt figure out if there was an accessible entrance into the cathedral at Granada. However, the bazaars prove to be reasonably wheelchair friendly and the cobble stones not too daunting.
