Today I spent most of the day - as it seems on most days - on the computer. I had an online conference with Christina and Sean on the proposal we are planning for the STC special edition on Accessibility and Technical Communication. Christina has been working very hard on her UI Garden webzine. And we sorted out an outline and decided on the different parts for which we are responsible. We had to decide on a time - considering that Sean is in Beijing, Christina in Bristol and I am in France.I was glad I decided to call David and Diana to give them new year. Diana was still away in UK but David asked me out for dinner. We went to the nearby Italian place - Casa Mia 18, bd Leblois, which is quite accessible. I've eaten there before - it's okay. Tonight I had a tagliatelle with chicken and David had a steak with peppercorns. My chicken was dry and it was meant to be a lemony sauce but I found it to be a heavy cream sauce instead. We washed it down with an Italian red. David's lemon meringue wasn't too bad - it was a generous helping so I had to help him a bit.
